To be eligible for a leadership opportunity at The Neurodiversity Alliance, you must:

• Be between the ages of 16 and 26 and enrolled in high school or college for the 2026-27 school year for all student leadership roles. Note: There is no age or enrollment requirement for alumni leadership roles.
• Have a personal connection to Neurodiversity, either through your own lived experience or as an ally to friends and family members. Note: Priority is given to candidates who identify as neurodivergent, including one or more challenges related to learning, such as Dyslexia, ADHD, Processing Disorders, Autism, or similar learning disabilities or challenges.
• Be available to attend our in-person National Neurodiversity Leadership Summit in Denver, CO, on August 6-9, 2026 (all expenses paid for by The ND Alliance).
• Be able to commit at least 10 hours per month for Academic Year roles (or 10 hours per week for Summer roles and National Summit roles), and meet the other requirements of the specific role they are applying for (see individual roles for details).
• Pass a criminal history check and complete an IRS Form W-9 prior to the start date.

In addition to role-specific qualifications outlined within each description, all leaders at The Neurodiversity Alliance should meet the following qualifications:

• Be passionate about the mission, vision, and goals of The ND Alliance with a commitment to our values of inclusion and community.
• Be comfortable serving as a public representative and ambassador of The ND Alliance’s mission by representing the organization and community in a positive light.
• Be able to communicate ideas and engage with your peers and staff in a productive and collaborative working environment through whatever format works best for you.
• Be accountable to deadlines and follow through on your responsibilities and projects, including asking for clarification, help, or accommodations when needed.
