Taise-Martinez
2025 Scholarship Recipient

Taise M.

She/Her

ADHD/ADD, Anxiety Disorder

I was fortunate to receive appropriate academic and social support in adolescence, but I’m aware that not everyone has access to those opportunities. Through tutoring programs, afterschool initiatives, or big and little mentorship roles, I hope to help neurodiverse children recognize their potential and embrace their unique strengths, leaving a lasting impact on how they view themselves and the world around them.

As a first-generation student, Taise sees attending college as an immense blessing and an opportunity they are excited to embrace. While they were fortunate to receive the academic and social support they needed growing up, they recognize that not everyone has access to those opportunities. Committed to fostering inclusivity, they aim to support neurodiverse children through tutoring, mentorship, and afterschool programs, helping them embrace their strengths. With a passion for understanding the brain, they aspire to attend medical school and pursue a career in neurology, combining research and clinical practice to advance knowledge of the nervous system. They are dedicated to advocating for inclusive practices and making a meaningful impact on the lives of those with neurodiversity or neurological conditions.
