Dyslexia
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Katherine has navigated a journey shaped by her early struggles with dyslexia. Diagnosed in the second grade after difficulty distinguishing math symbols and vowels, she transferred to a school specializing in learning differences, where she found a supportive environment. There, she discovered The Neurodiversity Alliance’s Eye to Eye Mentoring Program, first as a mentee in fifth grade, then as a mentor in ninth grade, and later as a chapter leader. This experience empowered her to embrace her learning differences with pride and advocate for others facing similar challenges.
