As an African American male with invisible disabilities, I stand in the middle of different identities. I have been shaped by these identities, and they have given me unique perspectives on my life, my aspirations, and my future goals as the Black man I will become. I’ve learned and am learning how to accept the uniqueness of who I am; the invisibility of me and my disabilities that aren’t visible to the naked eye. It’s the ability to express how I feel as I live day to day in the intersection of these fears, insecurities, and identities that led me to my passion… the stage.

Joshua’s journey to becoming an activist actor is deeply shaped by his experiences navigating the challenges of invisible disabilities, including epilepsy, processing delays, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD. Growing up, he often felt out of place and struggled to keep up. However, with the support of his mother, who sought medical professionals, testing, and interventions, he gained a clearer understanding of his disabilities and how to navigate them. Acting became both an outlet and a source of strength. Now beginning his journey in college, he is determined to share his story and pursue a double major in Theatre/Acting and Film, Cinema, and Media. As an aspiring activist actor, he recognizes the power of performance in advocating for social change—especially for individuals with invisible disabilities. On stage and through film, he aims to challenge the status quo, amplify marginalized voices, and inspire empathy and understanding in audiences.
