Everything changed when I joined Eye to Eye in 10th grade, where high schoolers like myself met weekly with a small group of middle schoolers with learning disabilities. It was a safe space where we could be vulnerable, sharing our struggles and insecurities and learning about neurodivergence through personal experiences and art projects. My goal was to help these kids blossom and become comfortable in their own skin. Little did I know, it was all a projection; I was the one who needed guidance.

Growing up in New York City, Jadyn joined The Neurodiversity Alliance’s Eye to Eye Mentoring Program in 10th grade, an experience that helped shape their confidence and passion for advocacy. Diagnosed with ADHD and anxiety, they often felt set apart from their peers and worried about their future, college prospects, and the need to hide their differences. Becoming a mentor allowed them to embrace their identity, connect with others who share similar struggles, and gain confidence both inside and outside the classroom. Now serving as co-president of their chapter, they continue to empower others. Their lifelong love for social media and advertising led them to pursue a degree in Communications, with aspirations for a career in the fashion industry. As they move forward, they remain committed to amplifying the voices of the neurodivergent community, ensuring they are not only seen but heard.
