Izzy M.

She/Her
Gonzaga University, WA
ADHD/ADD, Auditory Processing Disorder

As I learned about my diagnosis, cultivated new coping skills, and advocated for accommodations, I saw things differently. I now view my neurodivergence as a gift. For instance, because I see the world differently than my neurotypical peers, I bring a unique perspective to classrooms, projects, and conversations. Many times my peers are surprised to hear of my diagnosis, which gives me the opportunity to break stereotypes and let them know the real me.

Diagnosed with ADHD and Auditory Processing Disorder at fifteen, Izzy spent years masking her neurodivergence to fit into a world designed for the neurotypical, leading to a deep struggle with identity and mental health. Over time, she embraced her authentic self, developing a passion for fostering understanding and inclusivity. Now working towards a Computer Science major, she is pursuing a career in data analytics, drawn to its structured, problem-solving nature. Beyond tech, Izzy is committed to empowering neurodivergent individuals, especially in business and entrepreneurship, by helping them recognize and harness their unique strengths to drive innovation and change.
