Born a fighter, Emma faced challenges even before taking her first breath. A prenatal stroke led to multiple learning and physical disabilities, including ADHD, dyslexia, cerebral palsy, and a visual impairment. Despite these obstacles, she has continuously defied expectations, proving her resilience and capability. Inspired by a supportive teacher at DVFriends, she discovered the profound impact an educator can have on a student’s journey. Now pursuing an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science degree, focusing on educational psychology and equine-assisted therapies, she aspires to become a special education teacher. Her ultimate goal is to earn a master’s in special education and a PATH certification to teach therapeutic horseback riding, empowering disabled children both in the classroom and the arena.
