I plan to dedicate myself in college and become a speech pathologist, empowering others to use their own voices. Being neurodiverse, I will be able to connect with my patients and provide a unique perspective. I plan to inspire my patients to find the positive through their own journey. I have joy in my life and the ability to persevere because I choose to find the silver lining.

Diagnosed with dyslexia, attention-deficit disorder (ADD), and Tourette syndrome, Anya once viewed her conditions as obstacles rather than strengths. That perspective shifted during her freshman year of high school when she discovered The Neurodiversity Alliance—a group that celebrated learning differences. Initially skeptical, she soon became deeply involved and embraced the concept of silver linings, finding positivity in challenges. Her journey led her to a leadership training hosted by The Neurodiversity Alliance, where over 100 neurodivergent young adults gathered to build advocacy skills. For the first time, she felt truly understood, surrounded by peers who shared similar experiences. This transformative moment taught her that her differences were not barriers but opportunities. Now, she strives to help others recognize the value in their own neurodiversity, sharing her perspective to inspire those who struggle to see the silver lining in their own journeys.
