ND Alliance Board Spotlight: Inger Dewey-Golob

This month, we’re excited to spotlight Inger Dewey-Golob, a longtime supporter of the Neurodiversity Alliance and our dedicated Board Chair. As Co-Owner of PhotoBall and a passionate learning disability advocate, Inger has been a vital part of our board since 2018. We recently asked her how she first connected with our organization and what drives her passion for our mission—here’s what she had to say.

I first learned about The Neurodiversity Alliance (formerly Eye to Eye) during an event sponsored by the Parents Education Network in San Francisco. The Founder and CEO, David Flink, was the featured speaker. After rolling off the Parents Education Network board, I approached David about joining his board. I am passionate about helping the neurodiverse population realize their full potential.

One of my favorite moments was attending the Partners’ Convening and Organizing Institute at Brown University a few years back as a fairly new board member. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting a fresh group of the Eye to Eye Mentoring program participants who were completing a sample art project in which they shared their own personal stories of living within the neurodiverse universe and their excitement for learning how to help empower younger students across the country.

The Neurodiversity Alliance empowers individuals living in the neurodiverse universe with tools to accept themselves and build self-awareness so that they can advocate for what they need in the classroom in middle school, high school, and college. The Neurodiverse Alliance is now additionally prioritizing leadership development for the neurodiverse population as one of its key priorities, and that is very exciting.
